Tonight Washington Heights comes to DPAC. Creator Lin-Manuel Miranda envisions the north Manhattan neighborhood as populated by colorful residents and complicated relationships. He wrote the piece when he attended Wesleyan University, and an early version was performed by students there. That's when he started incorporating the Latin musical stylings that would become the show's trademark. Later on Broadway, it was nominated for 13 Tony Awards in 2008 and won four, among them best musical. Tickets start at $20. Performances run through Feb. 27. —Sarah Ewald
