In romantic shorts

Yes, the title does sound just a little c-c-cold, but Lynden Harris and co-conspirators assure us that Shorts in Winter is actually a warm and funny theatrical chocolate box of ten-minute plays about the thang called l-u-v. In Surprise, Leila Keen tells Billy McCormick that being psychic isn't all it's cracked up to be--if you can only see two minutes into the future. In May Tag a busted washing machine comes to symbolize a relationship. And scalawag Chris Chiron tries to make time with arresting officer Kendall Rileigh in Perp.

Friday Feb. 6 is "Patron Kiss Night," while Sunday Feb. 8 sees the Shorts' "Thong-a-Thon." Folks who donate a brand new lingerie item to Project Homestead that night get a discount at the door. Plus, there's that overnight stay for two at the Carolina Inn for the patron who guesses the right number of candy hearts in the jar in the lobby. Is it warm in here, or is it just me? Tix are $14 and $12 for students and ArtsCenter Friends; call 929-2787 for reservations. --Byron Woods
