In our postmodern age the borders between high and low art have been blurred, leaving room for intermeshing of several different mediums--and also making it very difficult to classify exactly what the following events are all about. Yet this creative synergy and experimentation is electric to witness, and you'll have several chances to broaden your horizons at different events this week. On Wednesday, April 12, NCSU Center Stage welcomes Tomas Kubinek, a.k.a. Master of the Impossible. He is from a nearly extinct school of vaudvillian fun, blending physical comedy and magic creating a variety show that critics call "hypnotic" and "charming," seemingly because his act is so different. Then, Friday, April 14, the electronica project Lingual will crosspollinate music with video as Catnip and Circular One Way (both formerly of Friend Side Monkey) pair up with the A/V Geeks' Skip Elsheimer and Pozer, at Go! Studios. Also at Go!, the Third Mind Collective will present five bands, belly dancing, video, poetry, and an ordained minister to exorcise the artistic demons from your soul on Sunday, April 16 at 5 p.m.--Palm Sunday, appropriately enough. And also, if you didn't catch their family-friendly circus show last week at Artspace, the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus will do their full-on uncensored performance, which includes naughty contortions, fire-eating and sword-swallowing, at Kings Wednesday night, April 12.
