in piano pioneers
Pianist, composer and founding member of Jazz Crusaders (later just the Crusaders) Joe Sample visits Durham Saturday, Oct. 1 for a show at the Carolina Theatre. Through four decades Sample has shown a brilliance in styles smooth and funky. For this show, he's joined by Jay Anderson and Adam Nussbaum with an opening set by the N.C. Central jazz ensemble.
