In multimedia

If you're in the mood for music, movies, or visual arts, you can get it all in one neat package by coming out to Rhythm Light Productions' Robot Body Flesh. A self-proclaimed "multimedia barrage," Robot Body Flesh is part of the Café DADA series put on by the Durham Association for Downtown Arts. If this DADA took its inspiration from the surrealist spin-off Dada art movement of the 1910s and '20s, the show should prove to be quite a spectacle. Look out for a melange of film presentations by representatives from Cinema Overdrive and the N.C. Museum of Art, and experimental painting by Jonathan Blackwell. Super 8 films by Jim Haverkamp and Joyce Ventimiglia will also be shown throughout the event. There will be a performance by Durham band, Topography and let's not forget that a new Durham publication, Rock and Roll Space Pilot, will be introduced to the world--well, the Triangle at least. If all this isn't enough to lure you, then just come out for support because all proceeds from the $5 tickets go straight to the artists. Robot Body Flesh is on Thursday, March 13, at 8:30 p.m., at the Durham Arts Council's PSI Theater. 120 Morris St., Durham. For information contact DADA at 667-1546. --Martina Navratil
