In case you haven't noticed, right-wing activists have been sharpening their sabers again, preparing to carve chunks out of the hide and budget of public broadcasting. On Thursday, Aug. 4, a community forum sponsored by the Committee to Defend Public Broadcasting takes a hard look at the threat and challenge ahead. The program includes a speech given this year at the National Conference on Media Reform by journalist Bill Moyers and a panel discussion by Congressman David Price and Capitol Broadcasting CEO and national Common Cause board member Jim Goodmon. The event runs from 7-9:30 p.m. at the United Church of Chapel Hill at 1321 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
