If you're not in the mood for apologizing for the hereness of queerness, then UNC's ScreenArts has got a safe place to be this Friday. It's the JUNK Tour of Queer Underground Cinema, and it's stopping in Chapel Hill during its international tour.
The short films on offer are gratifyingly in-your-face, with titles like Operation Invert, Sterilized Cherries, Hip Hop Homos and Carve (this last one apparently involves body art created with knives). There's lighter fare as well, such as A Tale of Two Plushies, A Nightmare on Castro Street and Ghost Boobs.
The JUNK tour plays Chapel Hill for one night only: Friday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in 116 Murphey Hall. Admission is free. A workshop on queer organizing will be held earlier in the day, at 3 p.m. in 526A Greenlaw Hall.
