The biggest party of all is the annual Franklin Street freakshow in Chapel Hill, where town officials expect 70,000 people Sunday night. Here's what you need to know so things don't get scary: Do not, we repeat, do not attempt to park downtown. The streets close at 9 p.m., and cars parked on East Franklin will be towed starting at 6 p.m. Shuttle buses to and from park-and-ride lots cost $3 one-way, $5 round trip. The four lots are the Jones Ferry Road lot in Carrboro, Southern Village off Hwy. 15-501, the NC Hwy. 54 lot and University Mall. Please note that carrying alcoholic beverages, glass bottles or anything resembling a weapon will get you in trouble. So play nice. --Fiona Morgan
