When New Zealand's Architecture in Helsinki first (and last) visited the Triangle in June at the Cat's Cradle, they inquired about Cheerwine on stage and--15 minutes later--were guzzling two hot 12-packs of the sucrose-infused syrup. Maybe that explains the hard-edged Go-Betweens cover and their playful mid-song banter. The crew--eight in all--brings its dramatic, exuberant and triumphant left-field pop (epitomized by their opus, If We Should Die) to Raleigh this time, thanks in no small part to wolves d.i.n., a new student organization devoted to bringing exciting music back to N.C. State. The Talley Student Center show on Saturday, Oct. 8 starts at 9 p.m. and costs $4-$6. Dr. Dog opens.
