Local rock fixture Ron Liberti (former Pipe frontman and Clok Lok member) will open his first gallery show this Sunday, July 16, at the Bronwyn Merritt Gallery in Carrboro. Liberti's highly individual rock/special event posters--utilizing silk-screened photo-images, collage and/or color photocopying--have graced the kiosks and walls of Chapel Hill and Carrboro since the early '90s. His talent for pop culture appropriation and cool lettering has made him the most instantly recognizable graphic artist in the area. Own a piece of history--a poster of a fave gig or band--as Ron unveils more than 100 limited-edition prints at his opening, 6-9 p.m. Sunday.
