In drag bingo

Local drag queen Mary K Mart (pictured), who has hosted the N.C. Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and has even been invited by R.J. Reynolds to perform at some of their events, will be joined by drag performers Tequila Rose, Chocolate Shakes, Minnie Mart and Betty Ford for a Drag Bingo event sponsored by Alliance of AIDS Services-Carolina. Prizes will be donated by various local businesses, including the Glenwood Grill, the Body Shop and the Best Western, Cary. While the main event will be bingo playing, Tequila Rose and Chocolate Shakes will be entertaining players with a song or two. "You don't have to be a drag queen or be gay to participate in Drag Bingo, you just have to have the ability to have fun," Mary K Mart (aka Randy Light) told the Indy. The event begins 7 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m. on Friday, May 31 at the Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh, at 3313 Wade Ave. Call 834-2437 or visit www.aas-c.org for details.
