Introducing their work with mystifying and lyrical comparisons--"cinnamon and power-steering fluid, watermelon rinds and gravel"--Hannah McClure and Rachel Brooker (pictured) will present Falling Out of My Head
on Jan. 26 and 27 at Durham Arts Council's PSI Theater. Their choreography alternates solo and duet compositions, each piece dealing with "becoming yourself as a woman," says Brooker, a Chapel Hill native whose last performance was held at Ninth Street Dance. McClure, a West Coast gal, is new to the area and has already performed at the American Dance Festival. Although the artists (and roommates) claim David Dorfman and Twyla Tharp as major influences, their mixed-media presentation of dance, theater and slides promises to be truly original. The shows start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $7 for the general public and $5 for students and seniors. Call 489-8956.
