Texas troubadours The Flatlanders headline, with Sarah Lee Guthrie (granddaughter of Woody) and her husband, local strummer Johnny Irion starting the show at 8 p.m. (General admission $18, kids $5.) Saturday morning at 11 a.m., jazz and blues musicians will begin playing two days of continuous live music downtown in Moore Square, where 175 juried visual artists will show and sell their work (pottery, jewelry, photography, you name it).
Then there's the amazing non-stop kids' stuff: jugglers, fire-eaters and comedians roam the streets all day, there are art projects and sand sculpture to play with, and the PaperHand Puppet Intervention troupe has created an Ancient Tree installation that kids can crawl through.
The outdoor events are free; paid parking is available in city parking decks near the square. See www.artsplosure.org for more info or call 990-1158.
