Like their costumes, Peru Negro's vocals, dances and rhythms are woven from the African slave experience in Peru. The music is passionate and as pure an echo of the cajon traditions and Afro-Peruvian music as there is. The Wednesday, March 2 show at the UNC-Chapel Hill student union starts at 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. free curtain talk. Tickets are $25, $10 students. Check www.performingartsseries.unc.edu for details.
