Blindfolded, anyone would recognize a bowling alley from the familiar thuds of balls falling in the gutter, the crash of wooden pins, even the whisper of shoes crossing the polished wood. But what kind of noise does a frozen turkey make skidding down the center lane? This is not one of those philosophical if-a-tree-falls-in-the-forest questions, but a legitimate local concern, as coming up on Nov. 18, Hillsborough's Triangle SportsPlex will be hosting Turkey Bowl, an annual event that, yes indeed, uses frozen poultry in place of bowling balls. It starts at 2:30 p.m. and admission is cheaper than a movie ticket: $6 for adults, $5 for children 13 and younger. For more information, call 644-0339.
