If Not For You: 40th Anniv Tribute to George Harrison's All Things Must Pass

When: Sat., Feb. 26, 9 p.m. 2011
Price: $10-12

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of George Harrison's underrated 1970 masterpiece, All Things Must Pass, just a day after what would have been the quiet Beatle's 68th birthday fulfills a longtime desire for Triangle singer-songwriter Jeff Hart. Recognizing that recreating the triple album's sprawl would be no easy task, Hart—the project's musical leader and co-organizer—enlisted more those 40 area musicians who've been rehearsing in various configurations for three months. Among those involved are Peter Holsapple, Parthenon Huxley, Brett Harris, Taz Halloween, John Howie's Rosewood Bluff, Erie Choir, and members of Arrogance, the Backsliders, the Desmonds, Great Big Gone, Lud, Tres Chicas, Tripp, Violet Vector & the Lovely Lovelies, and the Olympic Ass Kickin' Team. Tickets for the 9 p.m. performance are $10 in advance, $12 day of show; proceeds benefit the Caring Community Foundation, a nonprofit assisting cancer patients with financial needs. —Spencer Griffith
