Idina Menzel launched the role of Maureen in Rent and Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway, played second fiddle to Amy Adams in Enchanted and lately, slummed it on ABC's Private Practice (with hubby Taye Diggs) and Fox's Glee (as Rachel's "Poker Face"-singing bio-mom). All that success and attention isn't falling on the undeserving: Menzel's incredible vocal range is powerful, dragon-slaying stuff. Her latest record, I Stand, produced by Glen Ballard, throws all that finesse and force into a bounty of pop overtures and heartfelt ballads she co-wrote.
