Hill Country Revue, Jambalaya

When: Thu., Oct. 28, 8 p.m. 2010
Price: $13-16

The North Mississippi Allstars' Cody Dickinson gets out from behind the drum set and straps on a guitar with his side project, Hill Country Revue. Blues-based Southern rockers, Hill Country Revue shoots from the hip and for the heart. Releasing its debut album last year, the band's frenetic energy has already led to a sophomore effort in October's Zebra Ranch. Singer Daniel Robert Coburn's meaty vocals lead the quintet with swagger. The rock influence is on full display, but the grooves are a physical force, equally capable of digging graves or turning down the sheets. Jambalaya opens. Pay $13 in advance or $16 day of for the 8 p.m. show. —Andrew Ritchey
