Harry Basil has had a peculiar career arc. The prop comic and impressionist known for dipping in and out of clothes onstage won the respect of Rodney Dangerfield when he appeared on an HBO special Dangerfield hosted. Basil went on to open for Dangerfield and become his writing partner, collaborating with him on the films Meet Wally Sparks, The 4th Tenor and Back by Midnight, the last two of which Basil directed. When Dangerfield died in 2004, Basil made the quantum leap to directing horror films, helming such straight-to-DVD fright fests as Soul's Midnight and Urban Decay. But Basil could not stay away from the stand-up stage for long, so here's a bevy of chances to see a guy do comedy in his drawers.
