Returning for a third visit is the pointy-headed creature from the sun, whose soft alt-rock tales of counting slugs, eating pinecones and playing with rocket shoes offer a gentle learning experience for kids, which won't make parents feel like they're being force-fed caffeine. Combining a live performance by creator Morgan Taylor with projections of a limited-animation storybook and sing-along lyrics, Gustafer has a homespun quality that's both gentle and eclectic. (You can read our interview with Taylor and a recap of a January 2009 ArtsCenter show at www.indyweek.com.) The show helps kick off the new "Top of the Sock" tour that previews the forthcoming Gustafer Yellowgold's Infinity Sock DVD/ CD. Recommended for kindergarteners through third graders, the show starts at 11 a.m.; tickets are $8 in advance and $10 day of show, though you might want to bring extra money in case the kids want a DVD/ CD or stuffed toy for themselves. Just sayin'.—Zack Smith
