While British quintet Gomez haven't fundamentally changed much between their 1998 Mercury Prize-winning debut Bring It On and last year's Whatever's On Your Mind, that doesn't mean they've been stuck in a rut for over a decade. The group earned that prestigious award for the way they bolster their rootsy songwriting with decidedly non-rustic sonic flourishes that nonetheless sound right at home. Having a cadre of writers and singers to rotate through—all distinct, yet cut from similar cloth—also helps keep things fresh. So, while Gomez still does what it's always done, this consistency is a very good thing. Hey Rosetta opens the 8 p.m. show; tickets are $20 in advance, $23 day of show. —David Raposa
