Preheat oven to 350 degress. Combine all dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Mix together well. Next, mix the buttermilk, egg and egg yolk in a smaller bowl. Then fold into dry ingredients. Use your hands to gently work the cubes of cold butter into the dough, Make sure there sre still a few little chunks of butter.
Roll the dough into about 6 medium balls, flatten into discs about 1/2 an inch thick. Brush with butter if you want them golden on top. Bake for 12- 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
