Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver
Abundant Life Church
Hillsborough
Friday Dec. 12, 7:30 p.m.
$15-20
Doyle Lawson's traditional bluegrass gospel harkens back to the days of Bill Monroe and the Louvin Brothers; rich vocal harmonies woven into mandolin, fiddle and banjo flourishes. Lawson started with the Kentucky Mountain Boys in the Sixties, and the Country Gentlemen in the Seventies, mentoring many younger players along the way, including Ricky Skaggs. When so many of his contemporaries' live appearances continue to dwindle, here's a chance to catch one of the originals of Southern gospel and bluegrass on the road.
