Funny People for Love and Justice

When: Sun., April 1, 8 p.m. 2012
Price: $10

Gay marriage? Considering the state of most straight marriages I know, it's hard to see the problem with letting people who actually want to be together be recognized as spouses. There are plenty of other forms of marriage to protest against, such as those who will inevitably claim the right to marry animals, and whatever legal loophole let that 50-ish guy from Lost marry that 16-year-old, which, ew. This opinion seems to be shared by the Triangle's local improv groups, which have banded together to protest Amendment 1 with "Funny People for Love and Justice," a fundraiser for the Coalition to Protect North Carolina Families' fight against the amendment. The event is led by Transactors' Greg Hohn and includes improvisers from FatMouth, Mixed Signals, Nothing I'm Proud Of, Temporary Tag, Transactors and Zen Fried Improv, along with stand-up comedians Adam Cohen, Jenny Chalikian and Brad Schnurr. —Zack Smith
