N.C. Museum of Art--The Winter Film Series at the museum concludes with a 75th anniversary celebration of Larry, Curly and Moe, known forever into eternity as The Three Stooges. Seven shorts from 1934 to 1947 will be shown at 8 p.m. --David Fellerath

LOCAL 506--Though it takes several careful listens to settle on the opinion, Fort Recovery may be the most fully realized album yet from Denton, Texas' powerhorse Centro-matic. The 12-track, 47-minute album is a perfect Texas indie boogy, with big meaty guitars, perfectly selective keyboards and a can't-miss rhythm section guiding frontman Will Johnson's indelible voice--a rough, craggy baritone that cracks naturally into an upper-octave register--through some of his best choruses yet. See "Monument Sails" and "Take a Rake" for the cases in point. Misra labelmates Great Lake Swimmers open, along with Chapel Hill's The Prayers and Tears of Arthur Digby Sellers.
