Raleigh
IRAQ IN FRAGMENTS
N.C. MUSEUM OF ART—This won't be your usual weekend of outdoor movies: James Longley's all-too-accurately titled documentary will be one of the definitive films of the current war, while tomorrow night's offering, Clint Eastwood's Letters From Iwo Jima, approaches a familiar war from a foreign perspective. Films are $3 and begin at 9 p.m. Visit www.ncartmuseum.org for more info. —David Fellerath

MEL MELTON & THE WICKED MOJOS
YANCY'S—In the early '90s, after about 20 years of wanderlust-ful map-hopping that included stints in Lafayette, Austin, Boulder and Chicago, Roy "Mel" Melton returned to North Carolina and settled a bit northeast of his native Gastonia. That first stop had the biggest impact on Melton and, to this day, Melton's self-described "mojo music" is bursting with New Orleans-style funk, Cajun waltzes, straight zydeco and swamp pop. And, who knows, he just might critique Yancy's gumbo before the show, which starts at 9:30 p.m. —Rick Cornell

Durham
DANCING FOR THE CAMERA
DUKE CAMPUS—The ADF's 12th annual film festival uses documentary film to transcend the boundaries of live performance. Tonight's 7 p.m. screening is at Richard White Lecture Hall on Duke's East Campus, and Saturday's screenings are in the same space at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, the films move over to the Nasher Museum for a 2 p.m. screening. Admission is free. See www.americandancefestival.org/projects/dfc.html. —Sarah Lupton
