Tony Williamson Band/ Patrick Phelan

Carolina Inn/ The CaveLike morning dew on a car, Rad Andy Williamson's vocals can be sensitive and beautiful, full of promise for the coming days. His father, Tony Williamson, is the car: playing fast, powerful mandolin and in control of what the day holds. The blend of acoustic rock and bluegrass works best when the outfit just lets itself jam. The Tony Williamson Band starts at the Carolina Inn at 5 p.m. before wandering down to The Cave at 10 p.m. In the interregnum, Patrick Phelan plays The Cave at 7:30 p.m. Phelan, the lead singer of Luego, offers a jangly pop veneer that peels away to a roots core. —Andrew Ritchey
