"Our performance is an experience. You will have to stand and move to participate. You may be uncomfortable at times." Haymaker is a new breed of theater company, not even attaching "theater company" to their name. The trio of Dan VanHoozer, Emily Hill and Akiva Fox develops work iteratively, alternating periods of research and play with interim presentations that may or may not end up in their final production. This draft of their current Elektra Project stars Susannah Hough, Max Kaufman, Lisa Keaton and Amber Wood. The project draws upon Aeschylus' Oresteia trilogy, as well as its many permutations and appearances of Elektra in literature and popular culture. This is the third local showing of a draft portion of this work. The group presented two chunks of the performance earlier this year as part of UNC-Chapel Hill's Process Series—one of which was a repetitive, intense domestic scene between Elektra and her mother Clytemnestra around which the audience sat in a tight ring of multi-perspective witness. —Chris Vitiello
