Coming out of a similar jazz/old-time country-blues tradition as Jolie Holland, Eilen Jewell is certainly influenced by Billie Holiday and Bessie Smith. Over six studio albums, those initial predilections have opened up like a rose, revealing a broader palette. On her latest, Queen of the Minor Key, she flashes some rockabilly "Warning Signs" and kicks a little surf instrumental to open the album. But her strength remains that torchy cabaret croon. On the spooky "Only One," her wishes come draped in her velvety longing. Tickets to the 8 p.m. show are $12 in advance, $15 day of show. —Chris Parker
