The hooks are understated, offered with whispery intensity by singers Ethan and Asher Payne. Bass and drums erupt with danceable energy, but the guitars and keys settle like a fog, enchanting listeners rather than overpowering them. In essence, they're an anti-Passion Pit, a sleek indie pop act that understands that bombast isn't the only vehicle for expressing emotion. Lake and Woods open.
