Re: “The Neuse River Is Sick, and Advocates Blame the Pork and Poultry Industries

SO, reward capitalists for being stupid enough to put facilities in flood plains?
JFC, who comes up with this crap?

And the cesspools AKA 'lagoons' don't have to flood anywhere to ruin the Neuse. The N makes it to the river with no flooding, just evaporation.

Now that Smithfield is owned by foreign entities is time to shut them down. Ruin your own damn country in order to eat shitty pork.

Re: “Orange County’s Board of Adjustment to Determine Whether the So-Called Party Barn is Really Being Used as a Farm

I think they are doing a good thing showing how money can be made in agri tourism. The dollar amounts spent on their farming activities don't matter. All the parsing of their business model doesn't matter. It's a tiny farm with a large barn. So what?
If loud noises come forth after reasonable hours, it should be stopped quickly. Otherwise you folks should get over someone else having more money than you...

Re: “N.C. State Researchers Say That, in a Drought-Stricken Future, the World Might Look to Cary

I guess they did not want to mention the very high per person water use in Cary?

Re: “Psst … Guess What? Your Brunch Waiter Hates You.

how about some cheese with that fine whine?
People are not going to change en mass.
Get another job.
This self pity shit/ and pointing out that humans are human is a waste of electrons.

Re: “Raleigh developer knocks down historic bungalow to build a massive house

Roofdeac has it correct. Everyone should wish for someone as thoughtful as Mr. Beaman to be building in their neighborhood. Change is hard on folks and they lash out. When it is completed, it will be a complement to the neighborhood.

The idea that the new home is a 'debacle' (not will be, it already is?) before the roof is on indicates some NIMBY thinking to me.

Re: “Chapel Hill passes on potential parkland to let a developer do his thing

Everyone at the meeting just seems to care about the 'park'. Is no one concerned about the lack of low income provisions for all the rentals going up due to state law over riding local control? So much for CH sovereignty
