CAPSLOCK II with DJ P & Mr T, Animalweapon, Boogie Reverie, AK-87 (release party), Glas Enaid

When: Fri., June 28, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $5

"There's been a thriving electronic music scene around here lately, but it's heavily skewed toward the raver crowd," Animalweapon's Patrick Cortes explains in discussing the motivation behind CAPSLOCK, a new showcase organized by Kat Liang (aka Raleigh electronic musician F0XYr4bB!T). The point being, Cortes continues, that tThere are lots of wildly different kinds of electronic music." CAPSLOCK presents local acts exploring IDM, trip-hop, chillout, beat music and anything beyond. They're as liable to play with crazy, chip-tuney sounds and glitches as they are to dive into ambient mixes. This showcase also serves as a release party for Secondary Faces, a new EP by Raleigh's AK-87, who will perform along with Animalweapon, DJ P & MR T, Boogie Reverie and Glas Enaid. —Ashley Melzer
