Remember: Any film, any at all, can be made into a Broadway musical. This remake of the 1988 Steve Martin/ Michael Caine con-artist comedy (originally written for Mick Jagger and David Bowie, if you can believe that) is one of the prime examples, having run for more than 600 shows on the Great White Way and being nominated for a shelf full of Tonys (it won one). You can get in on the con yourself with this NCSU production, which runs Sept. 26–30. Performances are at 7:30 p.m., with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. —Zack Smith
