Veterans of Nashville's Denney & the Jets have gone on to form Pujol and JEFF the Brotherhood, bands that have equaled—and in JEFF's case, outstripped—their old outfit in terms of notoriety. That shouldn't discount the Jets: Their unique and fuzzy take on country and rock 'n' roll tangles the styles' deep Music City roots. Psych-beguiled rockabilly riffs lend flair to energized country shuffles. It's an exciting amalgamation of traditions, as relevant as it is reverent.
