Jamie Dailey was a sideman for Doyle Lawson, and Darrin Vincent performed with Ricky Skaggs before the two teamed up and formed their own duo a few years ago. They've quickly become stars in the bluegrass realm, winning the International Bluegrass Music Association's Entertainer of the Year award for three straight years. To spice things up this year, they released an album of songs covering country act the Statler Brothers, earning them a Grammy bid against the likes of Lady Antebellum and the Zac Brown Band for best country vocal performance by a duo or a group. How do you make bluegrass relevant to a wider audience? By making really good bluegrass. —Andrew Ritchey
