Broadcast by a dozen radio stations and on television by News 14 Carolina, the 11th annual N.C. Children's Promise Radiothon and Telethon supports the efforts of the N.C. Children's Hospital. This year, Triangle country station 94.7 QDR is extending the holiday generosity with a benefit concert boasting six veritable radio stars. American Idol winner Scotty McCreery lends his drawling baritone to the proceedings, likely leaning on the earnest offerings from his new Christmas effort. Kix Brooks, one half of the defunct Brooks & Dunn, will also play, along with Lee Brice, Gloriana, Josh Thompson and Jason Michael Carroll. —Jordan Lawrence
