Corey Holcomb

It's been more than a year since the late, great, proudly confrontational comedian Patrice O'Neal died of complications from a stroke. We think it's about time another black comic continued the tradition of assaulting audiences with brutally funny, brutally honest and just plain brutal comedy. Corey Holcomb is a prime candidate to fulfill that duty. The Chicago-born comic's patented brand of boldly offensive humor (Sample joke: "Some of you fellas may want to holler at me after the show—I found an abortion clinic with pool tables in it") has been known to ruffle the feathers even of usually unflappable black audiences. A comic who has no qualms speaking his mind, especially when it comes to women and relationships, Holcomb also hosts an online radio call-in program, The Corey Holcomb 5150 Show, on the RMC Radio website on Tuesday nights. —Craig D.
