Corb Lund & the Hurtin' Albertans, Blake Christiana

When: Thu., Feb. 14, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $12-15

Canadian cowboy rockabilly has a narrow shelf at the virtual record store, but Corb Lund dominates it. He's a Sun Records throwback answer to Hayes Carll. Like that Texas country songwriter, Lund's songs crackle with wit, confidence and at least the aura of authenticity. He can cover a lot of ground, but he primarily works a nexus of outlaw country and honky-tonk balladry, Western swing and '50s rock. His latest, Cabin Fever, bites harder than usual with the bluesy "Dig Gravedigger Dig" and the hilarious outlaw country ode to the ultimate law enforcement deterrent, "Bible on the Dash." Blake Christiana of Yarn opens the 8 p.m. show. —Chris Parker
