This five-act mongrel of a bill is bound to please and frustrate in equal measure. Clockwork Kids, the head-scratching headliner, have one single to their name, a straightforward take on early R.E.M. that's heavy on nothing but reverence. Kansas City's Cowboy Indian Bear play even-tempered positive pop that suggests Akron/Family, if their reputation was staked on brooding rather than bravado. Raleigh's Spacemen deal in reverb-laden indie rock that's undeniably hooky but also hampered by its use of stock slacker tones. Jphono1's gauzy acoustic experiments open the night with its best offering, so show up early. Hawley Shoffner also plays. The $8 grab-bag starts at 8:30 p.m. —Jordan Lawrence
