At a young age, Maire, Pol and Ciaran Brennan performed in their father's bar in a parish in secluded northwest Ireland. Leo's Tavern proved the perfect place to try their hand at music. The siblings' skill at marrying traditional styles with new structures and evocative harmonies soon became apparent, as did their desire to join forces with uncles Noel and Padraig Duggan. This year marks four decades that the Brennan/Duggan clan have shared their mesmerizing take on the sounds of Ireland. This trip marks their first North American visit in 18 years. —Ashley Melzer
