Cherub, DJ Chocolate Thunder

When: Sat., Feb. 18, 9 p.m. 2012
Price: $8-10

A cherub, of course, is a little angelic entity often associated with valentines and happiness and well-being. Tennessee's Cherub doesn't embody any of that. With drug-and-sex-filled lyrics, the only thing they have in common with real cherubs is the nudity. Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber suggest Prince in his prime, pushing most every guitar effects pedal imaginable. The songs sound the same, but the dancing incorporated in the live show could save these fellows. With DJ Chocolate Thunder. —James Hatfield
