Cartoon captured Helms' legacy
Thanks for the great cartoon for Senator Helms with the Confederate flag at half-mast (Peripheral Visions, July 9).
I think it is a fitting tribute. You can say what you want about Jesse Helms, but at least he had some backbone. That's more than I can say about any of our so-called "leaders" in Washington today.
