Bull Spec Summer Issue Launch

When: Wed., Aug. 4, 7:30 p.m. 2010

Speculative fiction is something of a catch-all term for nonrealistic fiction that doesn't ghettoize itself into narrow categories like science fiction or horror or fantasy. Durham's Samuel Montgomery-Blinn, is the founder and editor of Bull Spec: A Magazine of Speculative Fiction, which bills itself as a "professionally- and royalty-paying speculative fiction market and quarterly print magazine with DRM-free, commons-friendly e-books and audiobooks available for 'donate what you like' in English, Spanish, French and Chinese." Tonight's event at Quail Ridge is a launch party for the magazine's second issue, which features work by John Kessell, Gwendolyn Clare and Paul Celmer—all of whom are scheduled to join Mongomery-Blinn. Snacks will be served.—David Fellerath
