Buddy Guy & Johnny Lang

When: Wed., Feb. 20, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $39-55

Blues prodigy Jonny Lang made his recorded debut at age 15, following it with a fine second album three years later. But he fell off quicker than Wile E. Coyote on malfunctioning rocket skates. His subsequent stabs at spiritual hard rock are regrettable at best. Still, as is proven by his 1998 duet with Chicago blues legend Buddy Guy on "Midnight Train," Lang can really play when he needs to. That said, no one can approach Guy for guitar tone or gritty, soulful vocals. He's still a genuine triple threat, dangerous with the microphone, guitar or pen. He is our finest living blues star. —Chris Parker
