Jordan High School social studies teacher Brian McDonald examines the first 25 years of the school's operation in his new book, Not the End, But the Beginning: The Impact of Race and Class on the History of Jordan High School, 1963-1988. McDonald discusses school desegregation, the county merger of 1970, the growing socioeconomic gap that began to develop in the 1980s and the effects of all these events on the students who attended. —Mary Alta Feddeman
