Breaking Bad Finale (Showroom)

When: Sun., Sept. 29, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: Free
To all those Breaking Bad fans out there, congratulations, you've been through a lot. In all likelihood, you've spent the past seven Sundays being put through the emotional wringer as series creator Vince Gilligan and his beyond-brilliant crew of writers and directors (including Looper director Rian Johnson) constructed the most intense, unforgiving, downright jaw-dropping final episodes of a commercial TV drama ever made. The crazy part is we all knew the journey of cancer-stricken high school chemistry teacher-turned-drug kingpin Walter White (the superlative Bryan Cranston) would not end well. But never has a kingdom crumbled—man, did it crumble!—with such consistent dread and stomach-knotting tragedy as did the doomed empire White built on crystal meth and bloodshed. It all comes down to the final episode, which will put this violent, funny, well-acted, occasionally jolting, intelligently crafted, exhaustingly suspenseful and always entertaining saga to rest. Can't watch at home alone? Go to Motorco, which will screen Breaking Bad one final time, this time in the Showroom. —Craig D. Lindsey
