Israeli musician Asaf Borger started as the drummer for the death metal band Shariba; in fact, the name Borgore suggests he might have carried on in this bloody niche. In reality, Borger now makes hyper-melodic dubstep. That is, while his music keeps the form's raucous club pulse, it grabs hooks by the armful. Consider his remix of Passion Pit's "Sleepyhead," in which he simplifies the beat with stomping synths but twists the chorus into a cartoon pastiche that's catchier than the original. As pleasing in melody as in rhythm, it's a great example of a producer who has clear interests and abilities with both. —Jordan Lawrence
