Photographer Barbara Tyroler debuts a new body of work based around her specialty: water. She completed her series while working at the University of Maryland with advanced photography students. Her "Mid Atlantic Water Portraits" explore how water distorts forms and influences light patterns. Tonight's opening reception runs 6:30–8:30. Tyroler will give a talk on various aspects of portraiture at 7:30. The exhibit is on display through Dec. 21. —Sarah Ewald
