Baisakhi is a day of harvest and renewal celebrated by Punjabis, Sikhs and others in the northern Indian subcontinent. It will be marked in Cary with this third annual open-air festival. The daylong fair, or "mela," features live music and dance groups that, combined, boast nearly 500 local performers, along with national vocal contest winners who will commemorate this year's 100th anniversary of Bollywood, the Indian film industry. Vendors will offer Indian food, jewelry, clothing, crafts and henna tattoos. —Sylvia Pfeiffenberger
