Letters to the Editor

Global concern
I read Doug Ireland's article ["Finger on the Trigger," April 3] with a deep sense of relief that a U.S. regional newspaper would print such a revelation for its readers. We live in very scary times, especially since the Bush administration came to power. I live in the United Kingdom and live in fear and foreboding of how the United States is handling events. I don't believe for one moment that Bush really cares what Tony Blair or any outsider has to say. America is too rich and powerful to need allies.

We failed to include a credit for a picture of a pregnant Madonna that accompanied Melinda Ruley's column "Suffer the Children" [March 27]. The image is part of a church fresco by artist Ben Long.
